Interested in honing your hatmaking skills? The Millinery Association of Australia is bringing out award winning Milliner Awon Golding and we are lucky enough to have places available in our Brisbane classes. Please let me know if you are interested. Exact topics for the classes are still to be confirmed but dates will be 17th and 18th of November. Whether it’s a fluffy ice cream cone, structured origami or parrot feathers arranged in a dramatic swirl, Awon Golding’s headpieces are sure to turn heads. The former fashion writer, stylist and buyer risked it all to pursue her dream of hatmaking in London, and it’s since paid off. In 2010 she was awarded the title of Hatmaker of the Year and in 2013, she won the Industry Prize at the Hat Designer of the Year competition.

Antique rare flower making tools

Milliners Christmas!! We are now selling these incredible antique flower tools by the box. These are absolutely amazing and and can be used with fabric, thin metals and eve plastic with great results - see pictures for examples. Location of the collection is Brisbane but may be willing to do a trip to Melbourne if enough people are interested. Each box weighs about 20kg so no postage - you would be able to courier them though at your own cost. There are boxes of cutters with matching (some not exact but near enough to use) moulds and other boxes with just cutters. I have been using the cutters successfully without using a press and they work fine as you can see in the pictures - sometimes you have to do a little more cutting by hand. Brilliant tools to add to your collection. Grab yourself a piece of history! They are really incredible - gorgeous craftsmanship and beautiful just to look at!! I am going to be posting pictures of all of the boxes so i apologize in advance to people who may not be interested in them!
